5 Famous Pakistani Singers

The following 5 iconic men are part of Pakistan’s rich music culture and have helped promote it, as they are famous in and outside of Pakistan and are attracting crowds worldwide to get a greater insight into our Pakistani culture

     Atif Aslam:

Despite his current successful singing career, Atif’s first love was cricket and he dreamed of representing his country. While training for the cricket team he simultaneously began to sing and recorded his first single “Aadat” with money he had saved.As it went viral Atif recorded more songs some of which are “Bheegi Yaadein” and “Ehsaas” and his popularity escalated almost overnight, as concerts all across the subcontinent sold out.Atif has toured internationally in US, Canada and Royal Albert Hall London. He has performed alongside Western singers like Jay Sean and Pitbull.Today Atif has expanded his career to include acting and his debut movie was the 2008 Pakistani film “bol”.

     Ali Zafar:

     Pakistani singer, composer and artist Ali Zafar is most famous for the range of his vocals which has shocked and yet won over the hearts of local and international audiences.His instant hit debut album “Huqa Pani” won him worldwide fan-following. He is also known as the most versatile singer because of his pop,folk and classical renditions in coke studio.

     Rahat Fateh Ali Khan:

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is a Pakistani Qawwali singer,a devotional music of Muslim Sufis. He is trained but his uncle Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, who brought Qawwali to international audiences. His talent inherent talent allowed him to perform from the young age of 9 and at the age of 15 he joined his uncle’s Qawwali group. He has performed in Pakistan, India and the United Kingdom to a combined audience of over 20,000.In Light of recent years he has been an integral part of Pakistani nationalism through his songs like “Hum Pakistan” and “DhartiDharti”. He has performed concerts in all big cities like Karachi, Lahore, Hyderabad and many more.

     Shafqat Amanat Ali:

Interested in music since he could talk shafqat Amanat ali was successfully able to pursue the career of his dreams, first as part of the Pakistani rock band Fuzon and then as a soloist.Fuzon merged Pakistani classical and modern rock to create a new genre.Following his departure from Fuzon, he began solo performances and won the president’s Pride of Performance award on Independence day 2007.His most famous works are “AnkhonkeSagar” and “Mitwa”.

Ali Azmat:

Ali Azmat is a Pakistani singer-songwriter.In the early part of his music career he struggled and performed at most at small gigs in Lahore. Once he joined the Sufi rock band Junoon the band gained fame over the span of a few years and became quite influential. The band’s most famous their debut album “Junoon” and “Inqilaab”(Revolution).Their most famous song is Jazba-e-Junoon which is one of the nations most loved songs and the signature song of the Cricket world Cup.Following these successes Azmat is the first musician to perform his single “dosti” at the UN assembly to aid the UN Mission of World Peace in 2001.
